Review : SLAP Watch

When I first heard of Slap Watch, I was intrigued. You might ask me, what's a Slap Watch? If you have worn a slap bracelet before, then you should have guessed what's so special about a SLAP watch. Like a slap bracelet, you can just 'slap' a Slap Watch onto your wrist and watch it curve around your wrist, creating a secure grip that holds the watch in place.

"Each SLAP WATCH™ comes with a removable face that can be interchanged with others to create a look that is just right for you. In fact, if you have all 9 colors, you have the possibility of 81 different watches."

Regardless of your wrist size, you can wear the SLAP watches without having to adjust a clip. The watch band itself is made of silicone that is medical-grade and suitable for everyday wear. As the company offers 9 different designs, you'll definitely have a fun time mix-and-matching the watch faces and the bands of various colours, creating your own fashion statement. To set the time, just remove the face by gently pushing it out from the band. After getting the right time, insert it right back to its former spot. If you want to clean the band, just do the same. But please make sure the face doesn't come in contact in water.

I love wearing my Purple Berry Regular Slap Watch! It is so fashionable and comfortable to wear. My friends commented on how good it looks on me. The real colour of the watch is lighter than the one shown in the picture, but that is fine to me. I have a feeling that SLAP watches are going to be the new black for teenagers in the world. It has recently 'invaded' US and earned the approval of several famous TV hostess and the mass media.

Raven Jr. SLAP Watch $17.95

The SLAP Jr. is the perfect gift for little ones as you don't have to worry about it slipping off your child's wrist. It fits snugly and will not accidentally drop off and break. The watch face for Raven Jr. is much smaller than the regular SLAP watch, but it has exactly 12 divisions, which makes it easier for kids to read the time. My younger sister, Alice was delighted to receive her new SLAP watch and wears it to school everyday. Yesterday, I caught her beaming at the sight of her new watch on her wrist when she thought I was not watching.

Conclusion: Easy-to-wear, fun, bold, colourful and trendy, the SLAP Watches are bound to make you day brighter! It is also the perfect gift for everyone!

Happy Birthday, Grams!

My granny is celebrating her 71st birthday today. Yesterday I gave her a birthday package, but she reprimanded me by saying I shouldn't spend 'unnecessary money' to buy her gifts since I'm not working yet. So, in order to make her feel better about the whole thing, I told her that the presents are little things I won on the Net over the years and kept unused in my pretty boxes. Instantly, she felt better and happily accepted my gifts.

First of all, I gave her a pair of handmade costume pearl teardrop earrings from John Wind Maximal Art.

Guava Fig Goats Milk Shea Butter Soap NEW FOR 2011
I also included a piece of Guava Fig Goats Milk Shea Butter Soap from Lost River Rags, which I'm sure she'd love. This listing sells for $3.75 USD. To purchase, click HERE

Last but not least, I got her a packet of Marigold seeds! It would be great to see the flowers blossom with the care of her green fingers. I never had the patience to take care of flowers, or any plants for that matter. I tried planting Zinnias once, but it was a disaster. They withered in a few days time.

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRAMS!

A Day @ Ipoh Parade a.k.a. Parkson

My dad was supposed to attend a conference which starts at 8.00 am and ends at 5.00 pm in Ipoh. And of course, we jumped at the opportunity to tag along with him because we usually don't go anywhere far (not that I enjoyed it much).

Dad dropped us at Parkson at 8.15 am, and went to his meeting. And we had to wait for more than an hour before Parkson started its business. Luckily I brought a book there to read.

But there were always these people - chain-smokers who liked to smoke near people. I mean, hey there, if you want to smoke, please go somewhere else! Do you have to stand so close and let me inhale your putrid, asphyxiating second-hand smoke while you go on huffing and puffing and enjoying yourself?

How I wish our government would ban smoking!

After walking around for some time, we went to the second floor and waited for Novelhut to start operating.

I got myself two books, I Am Number Four (!!!) and Love is Hell, a compilation of short stories by some of the most popular writers in US. So excited!

I visited the Thai corner again, this time to buy some clothes. I bought a white T-shirt with the lettering "Don't take my photograph" in pink and a grey camera beside it. It was quite funky and pretty, but I later found out that it was a little too tight. I also bought a pretty dress which is, unfortunately, also a little to tight for me!

Everywhere, I saw girls wearing outfits of the same style. Taiwanese. Yes, they definitely looked pretty, and some were gorgeous, but when you were dressed the same as everyone, then you don't look so outstanding anymore. Not that I agree with Lady Gaga's one-of-a-kind dressing code.

I tend to go for the classic style. Boring, I know, but it suits me better.

At 3 o'clock in the evening, I fall asleep on a bench in the mall, resting my head on my sister's shoulders. My sister later told me that a lot of people laughed at me. I responded by saying, "Who cares, anyway. I'm tired and I need rest. That's what matters." I was there for 9 hours, for God's sake! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tired the least bit.

At least I didn't sleep like this:

Or this:

Or this!

Hahaha! I bet you laughed (or smiled)! That's all for today! Bye!

Pray For Japan!

The most powerful earthquake to hit Japan in at least 100 years has unleashed walls of water Friday that swept across rice fields, engulfing towns, dragging houses onto highways and tossing cars and boats like toys, apparently killing hundreds, while triggering a devastating tsunami.

Japanese TV showed cars, ships and buildings swept away by a vast wall of water after the 8.9-magnitude quake. A state of emergency has been declared at a nuclear power plant but officials said there were no radiation leaks. At least 60 people have been killed by the quake, which struck about 400km (250 miles) north-east of Tokyo. The death toll is expected to rise significantly.

Japan map

"Roads were badly damaged and cut off as the tsunami washed away debris, cars and many other things," said Hiroshi Sato, a disaster management official in Iwate.

Bullet train services to northern Japan were halted and rapid transit in Tokyo was suspended, stranding many workers in the city centre. About four million homes in and around Tokyo suffered power outages.

Let's pray for all those who have been caught up in the aftermath of the Japan earthquake andtsunami.

Where To Go?

So today King Mei and I were talking about the English aural test in which two students will carry out a conversation about any topic, as long as it is not a sensitive case. We'll be discussing the places on our to-visit-someday list. King Mei wants to go to Australia some day (Remember that, Mr. O!) while my wish is to travel around the world.

List of places I want to go:

Tour Eiffel Wikimedia Commons.jpg
1. Paris - The City of Light
  • The Louvre (pronounced luvh-r)Museum, the site of the world's largest and most diverse collection of pre-20th century painting, sculpture, and decorative objects.
  • Eiffel Tower, Paris' most-recognized icon.
2. Italy
  • Grand Canal in Venice. I've always wanted to ride a gondola!
  • Leaning Tower of Pisa. Can I climb up there?
3. Do you see what I see? Yeah baby, it's Hawaii! (Sorry, do I sound like Dora The Explorer?) Clear, blue sky, transparent waters, endless stretch of fine white beach... the mere thought of it makes me swoon.

4. St. Petersburg, Russia. I'm so going to visit this country in the future! I loved the motion picture Anastasia and have since been charmed by the grandeur of the Russian culture.

I love these handmade Russian dolls! They're called Matryoshka dolls. A matryoshka doll, or babushka doll is a Russian nesting doll which is a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside the other. Do you know that Babushka means old woman or grandmother? Strangely, the dolls are so cute!

So, that's all... for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day! Don't forget to tell me what places of interest do you intend to visit in the near future!

Mandy's Misdemeanor

It seems my dog Mandy has developed a penchant for lingeries. (OK, she's not exactly mine, she's my cousin's, but since she's been staying in my house for more than 2 months, we already start to consider her as ours. She has no status in her real home, where there are 11 other dogs competing to be the alpha.) Starting from last week, she started biting me and my mom's bras and panties into unidentifiable, torn pieces of scraps when they accidentally dropped from the drying rack. My dad gave her a slap on her mouth with a shoe, and 3 days since then, she stopped harassing our lingeries. But after 3 days, the effect of the slap seemed to have worn off. She started biting them again! How frustrating! I was wanting to hit her backside yesterday, but when I saw how skinny she is, I got afraid that I might accidentally hurt her backbone. So, I gently tapped her with a stick, all the while chiding her. I know, I know, what silly person talks to a dog?
