My review:

I must say, this is a very good read. The plot is interesting and it catches my attention from the beginning 'till the end. I finished this 225-page book in one day!
The protagonist of this story, Noramary was a happy, cheerful and beautiful young lady who's in love with her childhood sweetheart, Robert, but everything changed when her cousin Winnie eloped with her French tutor. Winnie was supposed to marry Duncan Montrose in 2 months time and her reckless action had sent her family into a state of humiliation, and at the same time destroyed their family's honour.

Elizabeth and William Barnwell had no choice but to ask Noramary's to step into Winnie's place as a substitute bride of Duncan Montrose. Noramary, who was orphaned at a young age, and stayed with the Barnwells who treated her just like their own daughter, could not decline their request and finally gave in. She chose honour before love and married Duncan Montrose. But that was not the end of the story. Duncan later on misunderstood Noramary and suspected her of having a clandestine affair with her childhood sweetheart, Robert and treated her badly (emotionally). However, the ending was a happy one, which I loved. I won't tell you what's the ending. Find out yourself by reading the novel. I promise you won't regret reading this book.

The words used in this novel are beautiful, and the author described the characters thoroughly, which succeeds to give the reader an impression of what the characters' personalities. Overall, this was a good read and I enjoyed it.

Rating : 9.5/10
